APT College (APT) is committed to safeguarding your online privacy.  This privacy policy explains what data we collect from visitors to our website and how that information is used.  APT is the sole owner of your information and will only share your information in ways described below in this Privacy Policy.  APT is committed to protecting your privacy when you visit our website, enroll in classes, communicate online, submit information, or any other means of giving private information to APT.  APT wants to make sure you know what information is collected and what APT does with the information collected.

APT maintains this web site and all the information, communications, software, scripting, photos, text, video, graphics, music, sounds, images and other services for the use of its students, customers, employees and members of the general public but only for the lawful purposes.

APT makes no representations whatsoever about any other web site which you may access through our site. When you access a non-APT website from a link on our website, target organization is independent from APT and APT has no control over their content.  In addition, a link to a non-APT website does not mean that APT endorses or accepts any responsibility for that company.

APT collects information from our website for various reasons; enrollment, interest, homework, secured payments, statistics, and inquires.

In addition to information automatically collected by your browser, APT also collects information that you provide when you register for a course or service.

Registration and Contact Information
Enrollment into a program or class requires visitors to provide contact information when they register.  Information collected may include a user's name, company, title or position, work and home address, e-mail address, and unique identifiers, such as a Social Security number or student ID number.  Contact information is used to contact our visitors if necessary or to generate rosters.  Unique identifiers are used to verify identity and to report information required by federal and/or accreditation agencies.  Contact information is used to send information about APT to the visitor requesting that information.  Customer interest information is collected to determine what information the customer wishes to be sent.  Visitors can simply email or call APT's office to request such information verbally to bypass the website option.

Students may download information from the APT website.  The information is intended to be informative and do not contain “cookies” or other electronic “hidden codes” to gather information.

How We Use This Information
APT uses the information collected to help plan our website to meet the needs of our students and customers.  Information provided to us is used determine which classes are needed in the future, how we can serve our customers better, what services should be offered, and what improvements are possible.  Inquiries or contact information received might result in follow-up communications.

Your Rights and Our Obligation to YOU
APT does not sell or rent any personal data submitted by visitors to our site to any third parties.  APT respects the privacy of all visitors, students, customers, etc. visiting our site or in any means providing APT with contact information.  APT abides by all applicable privacy laws concerning the release of personal information.  On occasion, APTmay distribute information about products, services, updates and other information we think may be of interest to you.  However, APT does not share your contact information to other education institutions, businesses, public or private.  Other than directory or information mail outs, emails, etc., the data you provide us is held in strict confidence and will be used by APT.  APT is sometimes required to share aggregate information (without detail information) with affiliation agencies.  Detail information may be sent to accreditation or certification agencies, however with your permission only.  For example, you may request APT to send your contact information to the industry certification agency for you to receive credentials.  APT will not share your contact information with anyone except as required by law.

How To Update Your Information
Our students or customers can update their contact information by sending APT an email, call on the phone, fax, or by direct mail.

Security Measures
APT's website has security measures in place to protect against the tapping, privacy invasion, loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under our control.  APT utilizes industry standard encryption technology when accepting your credit card information during the online ordering process.  SSL Encryption (Secure Sockets Layer) is use to insure security is provided through communicating via the Internet.  When an SSL session is started, the browser sends its public key to the server so that the server can securely send a secret key to the browser.  The browser and server exchange data via secret key encryption during that session.  APT uses SSL encryption for all money transactions across the internet connection.

Links from Our Site to Other Sites
APT uses links to other websites.  When you access these external websites, the providers of those sites can receive standard information about you.  APT is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of any websites which is not under our control.

Employee Responsibility
APT employees, and students working in campus offices, who because of their work have access to non-public (confidential) information about others must not disclose that information.  Employees must protect from the view of visitors non-public information displayed on computer screens.  Employees must agree to and observe the Employment Confidentiality Agreement and Confidentiality Policy as maintained by the human resources office.

Requests for disclosure of confidential information will be reviewed by the administrator of the information system involved.  Such requests will be honored only when approved by authorized college officials or when required by state or federal l

Enforcement of Policies
Students of APT who believe they have witnessed or been a victim of a violation of any of the above policies should notify an appropriate vice president, an immediate supervisor or the director of human resources.

APT’s response to violations will result in action by the appropriate officer or agency.  Such action may include, but is not limited to: permanent or temporary suspension of user privileges, deletion of files, disconnection from the APT network, and referral to applicable student/faculty/staff disciplinary processes that could include suspension or dismissal.  All potentially illegal activities may be reported to appropriate local, state or federal law enforcement agencies for investigation and prosecution.
