Description
Part B:  The FCC Element Three (E3) course provides students with the essential knowledge required to pass the FCC E3 exam, which is required to earn the General Radiotelephone Operator’s License (GROL).  The license is required to adjust, maintain, and repair aircraft, ship, and other FCC licensed radio communications equipment.  Several employers recognize this license as evidence of ability and knowledge in the field of radio and electronic communications.
The course includes the administration of the official FCC E3 exam and the proven course format and training techniques result in an extremely high pass ratio.

Element Three covers all topics applicable to the GROL license exam. The course is divided into two parts.  Topics covered specific to each part are as follows:

                     PART 1 (B):  Electrical and Electronic Principles, Electrical Math, Circuit
                                            Components, Circuits and Digital Logic, Receivers,
                                            Transmitters, and Modulation.


Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
Part B:
·        Discuss electrical and electronic principles and perform the applicable
          mathematical equations.

·        Identify electrical and electronic components and describe their functions.

·        Identify circuits used in radio equipment and discuss their function and
         applications.

·        Identify digital logic circuits and components and discuss their function and
         applications.

·        Discuss theory for radio receivers, transmitters and modulation as well as identify
         commonly used amplifiers and oscillators.

Days, times, and locations: Varies by course section. Courses typically take place during the week either before or after work hours in approved training facilities.
