Basic Math Review (8 hours) Online Availability

• Decimals, percentages, exponents and scientific notation.
• Basic application concepts of algebra, geometry and trigonometry.
• Practice problems that apply to green energy courses.

Electric Power Systems Operations (16 hours) Online Availability

• Basics of generation, transmission, distribution and consumption/metering/service connections.
• System protection, control and telecommunications.
• Grid operations, utility interconnection, reliability and stability.

Solar Photovoltaic System Introduction and Installation (32 hours)

• PV energy, modules and arrays
• Grid-tie, inverters, battery backup and stand-alone systems.
• Design basics, sizing, efficiency and maximum performance.
• Basic installation, safety and fundamental perfomance analysis.
• NABCEP's Entry Level Certificate exam given in class

Wind Power Design and Installation (24 hours)

• Wind technology, turbine generators, blade dynamics and orientation fundamentals.
• Grid-tie dynamics, sizing, efficiency and maximum performance.
• Basic tower installation, safety and fundamental performance analysis.

Duration: 80 instructor lead contact hours and up to 160 distance learning hours.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs): 8.0
