Description

Applied Professional Training (APT) offers up to three (3) credit hours for Work experience that is related to a course.  Work experience credit is intended for students that can prove they have met the learning outcomes of a course through actual experience.  Work experience credit must meet the following criteria.

  1. Student submits APT’s Work Experience course application with a resume.
  2. APT ’s Credit Evaluation Committee (CEC) either approves or denies the application.
  3. Upon approval, APT will assign a course and credit earned.
  4. The CED might require a project to be completed and a letter from employer (or former employer) before credit is actually granted.  An APT instructor might be assigned to verify and validate meeting the work experience requirement.

Work Experience Credit:

  135 hours for 3 College Credits
    90 hours for 2 College Credits

Cost:

   $1295 for 3 College Credits
     $995 for 2 College Credits

Requirements

  1. Student must be enrolled in an APT degree program
  2. The work experience must be within the intended scope of degree program course.
  3. Students are required to have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better.
  4. Students must complete a minimum of 135 hours of qualifying work experience for three (3) credit hours.
  5. Students must complete a minimum of 90 hours of qualifying work experience for two (2) credit hours.
  6. Students may enroll in only one Work Experience course in the Associate’s Degree program.
  7. Student’s conduct must be professional and responsible during the employment for which Work Experience is being considered.
